What You Need to Know About HCG

What is HCG? This hormone that is naturally occurring during pregnancy has seen increased interest in recent years. Though known commonly as hCG, it is more formerly called the Human chorionic gonadotropin hormone. It is most commonly seen in pregnant woman, but can also be produced by certain forms of tumors. Composed of more than two hundred amino acids, hCG is now being considered an effective form of weight loss supplement. It is theorized that the release of this hormone unleashes a number of fat stores, which can lead to quick weight loss.
How Effective is It? Though its necessary role in pregnancy is undeniable, as with any weight loss oriented tool, there comes much speculation about the effectiveness of the hCG diet. However, its successfulness in both men and women has been demonstrated numerous times. The average participant in this diet plan reports losing up to one pound per day, which would be impossible with even the most strict diet and exercise plan. Losing a single pound requires cutting caloric intake by thirty-five hundred calories or doing enough exercise to burn the same amount. With the average person requiring approximately two thousand calories per day, it is easy to see how difficult it would be to lose one pound per day without the added assistance of hCG.
Drops Versus Injections hCG for weight loss comes in three different forms. It can be administered as injections, as prescribed pharmaceutical drops, or homeopathic drops. Though the shots are the most common form of this hormone therapy and have been administered since the 1950’s, many people consider the drops to be preferential. Today, injections can be self-administered and for those who have trouble with the idea of self-injected medical spas that offer services like Botox, Latisse application, and other cosmetic applications will also manage the shots.
Still, though, some people simply cannot get past the needle. The drops, for that reason, have an advantage. Drops are placed under the tongue and are absorbed into the blood stream from there. It does, of course, require a more concentrated dose of hCG in this form because the absorbtion is not as complete as the injection method. Nevertheless, the weight loss impact has not been shown to vary substantially between forms. Homeopathic drops, are less expensive, but because they are not the same prescription strength as the pharmaceutical version, they will need to be used more frequently to obtain the same results – between two and six times per day. All three methods are most successful when paired with a healthy, well-balanced diet.
Will it Show up on a Pregnancy Test? Another advantage that the hCG drops have over the injections is that pregnancy tests will not be fooled by them. A woman would have to wait up to fourteen days after an injection to get an accurate reading, but can take a test immediately after using the drops without need for concern. It should be noted that the injections give the false positive because they provide a large dose of the hormone linked to successful weight loss.
